That's actually one of the stated incentives for self deportation that ICE is messaging. Leave before you're deported and you can possibly come back legally. If ICE has to send you out, you're barred for a couple decades if not for life.

I often find that people are less compassionate towards those in marginalized groups who have the ability to change groups. One could shift from unvaccinated to vaccinated by getting a vaccine; one cannot shift from Mexican to white, or gay to straight. It begs the question if such things were possible, if people such as this would want to enforce that people change themselves.
